Tammi Hixon, owner of Central Coast Sign Language, is a certified member of the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID), holding the National Interpreter Certification (NIC), as well as the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment certification (EIPA), and Missouri Interpreter Certification (MIC).
As a Child of Deaf Adults (CODA), Tammi began interpreting for her parents at a very young age and experienced their strength and leadership as role models in the Deaf community and the challenges they overcame. With over two decades of professional sign language interpretation, Tammi has a complete understanding of the challenges and frustrations the Deaf community face and the challenge of educating those who serve them.
. Her expertise includes organizing and providing interpreting services in educational,
legal, medical and occupational settings, and, coordinating interpreting and consultation services.
In addition to providing services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, she also strives to educate those who serve the Deaf community. She looks forward to all opportunities
to consult and assist them in maintaining compliance with current laws and standards, protecting their entity as well as the individual rights and needs of their consumers.
